Atem Books publishing company continues tracing its path. Some weeks ago we interviewed their founders here in “it, while at the same time Tyler Brûlé, Monocle and Wallpaper founder, defined Atem as the “symbol of the Spanish creative rebirth”. With statements like that the beginning of 2013 was sweet. But beside words, the facts are important as well. And here we go. This Saturday they launch the bible of photography of 2013 at Kowasa bookstore. “Looking back/Looking forward Issue 1” is the first delivery of a co-edited series next to “Impossible Colour” and its editor Piotr Drewko, who runs one of the most influential underground collectives of contemporary photography today. The book with the claim “interpretation i s the revenge of the intellectual upon art” wants to explain one of the strongest trends in nowday’s photograpy, based on the production without any sense, just with the aim to wrap reallity with images.
